Soup for Souls
Meets the Fourth Sunday of Every Month 3:30 - 5:30pm
Soup for Souls was started in February 2004 to supply a need that was becoming apparent to our church. There were many in our community, who for different reasons would appreciate a warm meal and the company of people who genuinely cared for them. We began by offering soups and homemade bread the last Sunday of each month, and found it well received by many people. As time went on, we branched out to sandwiches and salads in the summer, and in July have an outdoor barbeque with hotdogs, hamburgers and salads.
We have many ‘regulars’ who come each month, both for the company and conversation as well as the nourishing meals we serve. We have found it to be a blessing to help those in our community who have come by hard times, or just want someone to listen. All meals are free and the ministry is open to anyone who would like to come for a meal and some good conversation!
